Injury update

Get the latest on the Wigan Warriors squad ahead of Wigan’s Betfred Super League fixture against Wakefield Trinity on Thursday evening with the Assured Screening Injury Update.

Adrian Lam’s side will take on the Yorkshire outfit for the first time in 2021 when they travel to the Mobile Rocket Stadium on Thursday (7:45pm K.O.).

Speaking to the media on Monday, the Warriors head coach provided details on a number of players dealing with injuries.

He began positively by confirming that young forward Morgan Smithies would be available, having struggled to overcome an ankle injury in recent weeks.

Smithies missed last week’s fixture against Hull Kingston Rovers recovering from an ankle injury.

On winger Dom Manfredi, who was a late withdrawal from last week’s squad: “He’s got a lot of fluid on the knee and a loose bone fragment in there. It’s a week-to-week thing and he’ll likely not feature this week.”

On Bevan French, who the club are awaiting specialist guidance on the length of his recovery: “Still nothing yet. It’s frustrating not knowing, but it’s obviously not a one or two week thing.”

Jai Field continues his recovery from a torn hamstring he suffered in Round 1 against Leigh Centurions in March.
