Wigan Warriors Under-19s made it two out of two so far in 2021 after beating Huddersfield Giants 26-6 at Robin Park Arena.

In what was their first game back home in over a year, the Academy side came out on top in a bruising battle against the Giants.

Despite Huddersfield taking an early lead, Wigan responded soon after with a try from Ben O’Keefe, as the centre darted over on the right side,

Winger Billy Cannon then went over the line on the left edge to put Wigan ahead in the 24th minute thanks to a cut-out pass from Logan Astley.

Tom Forber was next o the scoresheet for the Warriors as he played a nice one-two with Alex Sutton to ease over the line before the break.

After a tight 30 minutes in the second half, the Cherry and Whites strengthened their lead with a lovely try down the right side – finished off by Joe Robinson after a neat assist by O’Keefe.

O’Keefe then added another just before the full time whistle as another brilliant move down the right saw Sutton find the centre who touched down for his second.

There were also three goal conversions for Zach Eckersley to add to Wigan’s score tally.
