Smith: Keep improving

  • Half back Harry Smith looks ahead to Saturday’s Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Final.
  • Smith: “We didn’t show them our full potential. Hopefully we can this week.”

Harry Smith believes there’s plenty more to come from the Warriors when they take on Hull FC this Saturday in the Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Finals (K.O. 2:30pm).

The two sides will face off for the second time in nine days when they meet at Emerald Headingley for a place in the Semi Finals.

Speaking to Wigan TV earlier this week, the scrum half explained how the Brett Hodgson’s men didn’t see the best of Wigan last Thursday.

“We can still improve on last week, it wasn’t a ten out of ten performance from us and we didn’t show them our full potential. Hopefully we can this week.

“We need to start as we did last week but keep the pressure on throughout. We need to turn the ball over in the right places, get a foothold and take advantage of that.”

The young scrum half also discussed how his relationship with veteran half back and captain Tommy Leuluai has helped improve his game this season.

“He’s always speaking to me and Jacko [Jackson Hastings] in training. We all have discussions after video meetings to look at what the opposition are going to do and he’s really good with me.
