  • FT | Wigan Warriors 16-14 Hull FC.

Jackson Hastings says Wigan’s win over Hull FC will increase their confidence as the two teams meet again in next Saturday’s Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Final.

Hastings scored a try, created an assist and was awarded Man of the Match in the 16-14 victory on Thursday as Wigan made it from five in the Betfred Super League and recorded their second consecutive victory at the DW Stadium.

The half back stated how proud he was of his side as he spoke to Wigan TV to share his thoughts.

“I didn’t care how we won”, Hastings said. “We really wanted to win – we play them twice in two weeks so getting the first win on the board is really good for our confidence. They are a really good team, and they fought all the way to the end.

“I think the positive about this group and this club is that we always find a way to fight and we did that, and we came out on top – I’m really proud of the effort.

“I thought our whole team stood up. In crucial points of the game, you saw different people stood up and lead. This Club is in very good hands with the young kids coming through – it’s what makes this Club so great and special. I’m just really proud to be a part of it and helping them develop.”
