Catch up with the progress of the Wigan Warriors first team ahead of Friday’s Betfred Challenge Cup Third Round tie against York City Knights.

Following the two opening wins in the Betfred Super League, the Warriors turn their attention to the Betfred Challenge Cup as they prepare to face York for the first time in 35 years.

The game will be played at York’s new LNER Community Stadium and on Wednesday Wigan head coach Adrian Lam announced the 21-man squad set to travel on Friday night. Read more here.

The last time York and Wigan met in the Challenge Cup was in the 1984 Semi-Finals at Leeds’ Elland Road, where Wigan won 14-8. The teams have met each other nine times previously in the Challenge Cup – Wigan winning seven times and York winning twice.
