Injury update

Get the latest on the Wigan Warriors squad ahead of Friday’s Challenge Cup tie against York with the Assured Screening Injury Update.

Earlier this week in his pre-match press conference, Adrian Lam provided an update on back Jai Field, who suffered a torn hamstring on the opening weekend of the season against Leigh Centurions. The Australian is expected to be sidelined for five months and had surgery on the injury last week.

Field posted shortly after his surgery on Instagram

“He’s been into training a couple of times already this week. He’s in high spirits and we all are rallying around him to make sure he feels ok. As a player you can quickly feel outside of the group, so we are making sure that doesn’t happen.”

Dom Manfredi is unavailable as he recovers from a fractured thumb. Oliver Gildart again misses out with a groin strain.

Liam Marshall continues his recovery from a knee injury sustained in September 2020 vs Castleford. The winger is expected to be in contention from May.
