Thompson: The game has come so far
We caught up with Wigan Warriors Women’s Captain Rachel Thompson as the Club celebrates International Women’s day.
Speaking on International Women’s Day, Thompson said: “International Women’s Day is a great day to recognise how much the sport of Rugby League has grown the Women’s game.
“The game has come so far in the last few years, not only at club level here at Wigan, but across the sport as a whole. I hope this is just the start and that it will continue to keep growing in this way.
“The Club have done an amazing job of supporting and growing the Women’s game for us, too.
“Having the Women’s training tops available to buy in the Club store and online in all sizes from kids to adults is a great example of this. Little girls who look up to us can purchase these and it’s absolutely amazing to see.”
