On this day – 23rd February

Look back on a great Wigan Warriors win over Hull FC at the DW Stadium from 23rd February 2020.

After beginning the 2020 season with a victory over Warrington Wolves at home, the Warriors followed up the result with a narrow defeat away to Castleford Tigers at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

Their third fixture of the season brought the Cherry and Whites back home. The tough challenge of Hull FC awaited, who had begun the season well, seeing off Leeds Rhinos and local rivals Hull KR before falling to defeat at the hands of St Helens.

Getting off to a flyer, Bevan French grabbed the first try of the game in the third minute. However, the half would prove to be a close contest, with the score at the break 10-8 to the Warriors.

What followed in the second half was a much improved Wigan performance. Adrian Lam’s men showed their class, scoring three tries via Dom Manfredi, Jackson Hastings and Willie Isa to seal a comfortable 26-12 victory.
