On this day – 17th February

Look back on a memorable Wigan Warriors victory over Catalans Dragons from 17th February 2007.

After an opening round defeat to Warrington, the Warriors headed to the south of France in search of their first points of the season.

Awaiting them at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium was the challenge of Catalans.

In what was a hard fought contest, the Cherry and Whites came out on top thanks to tries from Chris Ashton, Phil Bailey and Sean O’Loughlin. Pat Richards contributed, kicking three goals. The final score, 18-16.

Reminiscent of the 1968 Watersplash Final, take a look back at the rain soaked action in the gallery below.
