Winter Warrior postponed

  • New lockdown causes postponement of Winter Warrior training programme
  • 2021 camp to be rearranged at a later date
  • Everyone who signed up will still receive 2021 season ticket and Winter Warrior training top

The Winter Warrior training programme – scheduled to be delivered by Wigan Warriors Community Foundation in January and February – has been postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Due to take place between 9th January and 13th February, six weeks of Saturday rugby coaching were planned for over 500 junior fans.

However, due to the current national lockdown, the 2021 camp will now be rearranged at a later date.

Community coach, Tom Marsh, said: “We still want the sessions to go ahead and we will look to rearrange the 2021 camp as soon as possible and as soon as the time is right, and restrictions allow us to.

“We are exploring the possibility of delivering activities virtually to keep people engaged before we can come back and do practical sessions.”

Everyone who signed up to the camp can be assured that their 2021 season ticket will be issued to them once they have been officially launched by the Club. Everyone will also receive a Winter Warrior training top once the first official session has begun.

Those who have registered are advised to keep an eye on their emails and on the Club’s social media channels for future updates regarding the 2021 Winter Warrior programme.
