Head coach Adrian Lam believes his side will return a ‘completely different beast’ for the 2021 season, as they hope to go one better and lift the Betfred Super League trophy.
Speaking to Wigan TV about the 2020 season as a whole and the upcoming 2021 season, the Papua New Guinean discussed how his squad is shaping up.
“We’ve done good in recruitment and also retaining those that are already here for next year.
“I feel we’ve got a really strong squad at the minute. Obviously winning the Grand Final this year would have been the cherry on top, but it wasn’t meant to be.
“That will drive us, it’ll keep that hunger there. It will make us bigger and better for 2021, and we will be a completely different beast.”
As well as the new and returning faces in the squad, Lam explained how happy he was with the development of his current players, and the younger ones in particular.
“I can see the whole squad developing in attack and defence, and there’s a mindset there as a team. I’m really looking forward to next year to see how much they’ve grown.
“Everyone needs a good break, it’s been a tough year for everyone. However, We’re really excited for 2021.”
