Black History Round

Throughout October, for Black History Month, Betfred Super League has been showcasing the lives of prominent black players who have left lasting impressions on rugby league.

From Lucius Banks, the first black professional rugby league player, who started life as a quarterback in American Football, to unforgettable household names such as Billy Boston, Jason Robinson and Martin Offiah, Super League have so far told the stories of some of the most exciting players to ever play the sport.

To mark Super League’s Black History Round on October 22 and 23, the focus is on Clive Sullivan – a name synonymous with the city of Hull, and a man described as ‘a pioneer in the social history of British sport’.
