Ethan Havard says he is pleased with how Wigan Warriors returned to winning ways in the 12-28 victory against Catalans Dragons on Saturday night.

The prop made his eighth appearance of the season in the game at the Stade Gilbert Brutus, as Adrian Lam’s side bounced back from last week’s defeat to Hull KR.

Havard made his eighth appearance of the season in the 12-28 victory.

Talking to Wigan TV after the win, the 19-year-old was happy with how the squad remained focused on the game ahead of kick off, after making an early morning trip to Perpignan.

He said: “It was a very long day, we were up at 5am in the morning and on the plane by 9am, then we just had time sitting around and waiting to play. It did give us time to think about what we wanted to do, and then we just got stuck in straight away.

“They’re (Catalans Dragons) are big tough boys who know what they’re doing, so it was a big effort from the middles to get the win. I felt like we had about 20 back-to-back sets on our line – the boys were knackered, but we knew they might not be as physically and mentally strong as us.

“It was a good win to bounce back from last week, which we were gutted about, and it will put us up there in the table.”
