Isa: Credit to youngsters

Willie Isa was full of praise for Wigan’s young stars who stepped up in the 28-10 victory over Leeds Rhinos on Sunday evening.

Academy products Harry Smith, Ethan Havard and Liam Byrne all started for the Warriors, whilst Morgan Smithies and Joe Shorrocks both came off the bench in the Betfred Super League clash at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Speaking to Wigan TV after the win over the Rhinos, the 31-year-old expressed how impressed he is with the work rate of the rising talents in the team.   

He said: “Everyone keeps talking about the young boys, and I’ll tell you one thing about them, they always have a dig.

Isa is pleased with the work ethic of the young players in the Wigan squad.

“Our supporters and fans should never worry about effort with our young lads because they always give hundred percent.

“They stood up, and as well as last week, it is a learning curve. I am with them the whole way, so it is good that they’re having good games.”
