Team news

Sean O’Loughlin is one of the players that comes into the 21 after Wigan’s previous outing against Salford on 13th March.

The skipper has not been in action since suffering an eye injury in February’s win over Toronto Wolfpack.

“Sean O’Loughlin was our best trainer last week – he’s had a five-month break but he looks like he’s back in his 20s,” Head Coach Lam said at Wednesday’s virtual press conference.

Joe Greenwood also comes in to the squad after his short loan spell at Leeds Rhinos ended before lockdown.

Lam said: “Part of the secret to success this year is your recovery and the size of your squad. It will all come into play quite heavily at some point.

“We’re prepared and are treating everyone the same – nearly our whole squad will get an opportunity to play. We’re excited about it.”

Ben Flower is still unavailable after receiving a two-match penalty notice for Grade C Dangerous Contact against Hull KR in Round 6.

Ollie Partington also misses out after receiving a four-match ban for Grade D Dangerous Contact in the same game in early March.

Prop Tony Clubb has been ruled out of Sunday’s game with a neck injury.

The 33-year-old, who had neck surgery in 2016, played in Wigan’s win at Huddersfield in March but missed the following two matches with a shoulder injury.

Lam said: “He has a bulging vertebrae in his neck, he’s had an issue in the past and it’s flared up.

“We’ve got to take a precaution there; we’ll probably know a bit more within a week. We’re hoping he’s going to be okay.”

Centre Oliver Gildart will also miss out as he continues his recovery from a dislocated shoulder sustained last Autumn on Great Britain’s tour of New Zealand.
