Wigan and Leigh 5K Bubble Rush cancelled

Wigan and Leigh 5K Bubble Rush
  • September’s Wigan and Leigh 5K Bubble Rush cancelled due to social distancing needs
  • Fundraiser backed by Wigan Warriors Community Foundation was set to benefit Wigan and Leigh Hospice
  • Successful first event in 2019 will hopefully now be repeated at a future date

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and Wigan and Leigh Hospice have issued a joint statement regarding the 2020 edition of the 5K Bubble Rush, which was due to have taken place on Saturday 19th September…

“We regret to announce that we will not be holding the Wigan and Leigh 5K Bubble Rush this year.

“We know that many people were looking forward to the Bubble Rush following the success of last year’s event and will be disappointed, but the Covid-19 pandemic means it is simply not practical or safe to stage the event.

“Both the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and Wigan and Leigh Hospice are hopeful that we will be able to hold the Bubble Rush next year and we would love you to join us then.”

Everyone at Wigan Warriors hopes that we will be able to enjoy another fantastic 5K Bubble Rush as soon as social distancing rules allow for events of this nature to take place. If you’d like to support the wonderful work of Wigan and Leigh Hospice in lieu of being able to take part in this event, please follow this link to make a donation to the charity.

Wigan Warriors and Wigan and Leigh Hospice enjoy a close-knit relationship, as evidenced last week when executive director Kris Radlinski and former stars Gary Connolly and Paul Deacon were part of a team that cycled 100km to help support their fundraising mission.
