Dacia Magic Weekend update

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, and further to its postponement in April, Super League regrets to announce that Dacia Magic Weekend 2020 is cancelled.

The good news is that Super League have agreed in principle that next year’s Dacia Magic Weekend will take place at St James’ Park, Newcastle on 29 and 30 May 2021. Tickets purchased for this year will be valid for the 2021 event and therefore you do not need to do anything.

The day Wigan will be playing at the 2021 event will be confirmed by Super League in due course.

We thank you for your continued understanding and patience at this uncertain time.

Should fans that have bought tickets already not be able to attend in 2021 then, as per the terms and conditions of sale, you will be entitled to a refund or credit note.

To do so, please contact the DW Stadium Ticket Office by email ticketoffice@dwstadium.com or alternatively by phone on 01942 311111 from 9:30am on Wednesday 1 July (Please note that with limited members of staff available at the DW Stadium Ticket Office we ask for your patience should phone lines be busy).

Refunds will take up to 28 days to process and please note, that if a ticket purchaser hasn’t claimed a refund or credit note by midnight on 11 August 2020 the booking will be transferred to Dacia Magic Weekend 2021. With limited members of staff available during this period we ask for you not to contact us as we work through your refund process – we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Consequently, we have prepared some FAQs to provide you with some further information.

Will my existing ticket(s) be valid for Dacia Magic Weekend 2021?

Yes – as per the ticketing terms and conditions, existing tickets will remain valid for the event in 2021 and you don’t need to do anything.

What happens to my ticket(s) if I cannot attend the 2021 event?

Should you be unable to attend you will be able to request one of the following courses of action should you wish to cancel/return your tickets:

  1. Receive a credit note for the full amount paid, including booking fees, to be used for any other 2020 or 2021 Super League or Wigan Warriors game
  2. Receive a full refund of the ticket price that you paid

If I want the credit for a ticket(s) to another major Rugby League game this year or next what do I do?

To opt for this option, correspondence relating to credit notes must be marked ‘MATCH CREDIT NOTE and e-mailed to ticketoffice@dwstadium.com.

The request must be made by the person who purchased the tickets (account holder). The name and address of the person who made the original booking must be supplied in BLOCK CAPITALS for a credit note to be given. You must also include either your order or customer reference number and stipulate that you bought tickets for Dacia Magic Weekend. As no tickets for 2020 events were issued you are not required to return any printed tickets.

To help us manage this process we ask that you make your credit request before 11 August 2020. All customers who request a match credit will be notified when it is available to redeem for a future event.

PLEASE NOTE: If a ticket purchaser hasn’t claimed a refund or credit note by midnight on 11 August 2020 the booking will be transferred to Dacia Magic Weekend 2021.

PLEASE NOTE: Credit Notes are not available via any other form of communication including other mailboxes or over the telephone. Where possible please refrain from calling our box office. We are working remotely in line with the Government restrictions and we appreciate your patience.

I already know I don’t want to attend the event in 2021. When can I request a refund?

Given the unprecedented circumstances, we understand that some fans may be eager to receive their money back as soon as possible.

Ticket purchasers are able to apply for a refund from 29 June 2020 until 11 August 2020.

Correspondence relating to refunds must be marked ‘MAGIC WEEKEND REFUNDS and e-mailed to DW Stadium Ticket Office at ticketoffice@dwstadium.com or by calling 01942 311111 (Mon-Fri 09:30am and 4:30pm).

The request must be made by the person who purchased the tickets (account holder) and approved refunds will be authorised to the payment card only. The name and address of the person who made the original booking must be supplied in BLOCK CAPITALS for a refund to be given. You must also include either your order or customer reference number and stipulate that you bought tickets for Dacia Magic Weekend. As no tickets for 2020 events were issued you are not required to return any printed tickets.

PLEASE NOTE: If a ticket purchaser hasn’t claimed a refund or credit note by midnight on 11 August 2020 the booking will be transferred to Dacia Magic Weekend 2021.

How long will my refund take?

Please allow 28 days from the date of your request for your refund to appear in your account. We ask for you not to contact us as we work through your refund process – we appreciate your patience.

PLEASE NOTE: Refunds for multiple events or multiple days of events may appear separately in your account.

The card I used for payment has expired/been cancelled, can I request a refund to a different card?

Unfortunately, we can’t issue a refund to any new cards you might have. On the advice of our bank, we only refund the card that was originally used to pay. Most of the time, if you’ve had a replacement card for the same account the refund will go into your account automatically and you won’t need to do anything. If your account is closed or you’ve had a replacement card and the refund still isn’t appearing in your account after 28 days, please contact your card issuer. They’ll be holding the funds for you and will be able to arrange a transfer to your new account. Unfortunately, we can’t reclaim the money and issue the refund to a new card for you.

I haven’t received my refund yet, what should I do?

Please allow 28 days from the date of your request for the refund to appear in the account. If it still hasn’t appeared, please double check the card you have used for the payment. If this card has since expired or been cancelled please see above.

PLEASE NOTE: Refunds for multiple events or multiple days of events may appear separately in your account.

I have purchased ticket(s) for an event with someone other than Wigan Warriors (i.e Super League, RFL or a travel agency), how do I get a refund?

Please speak to the point of sale from where your ticket originates for further information. Super League operates its own refund policy, which can be found here – https://superleague.co.uk/ticket-faq

I have purchased ticket(s) for the Dacia Magic Weekend via Group Sales, how do I get a refund?

As with all other fans we would like to offer you the option to keep your current tickets and attend the event in 2021. If you wish to take this option, you do not need to do anything at the moment and the Group Sales Team will be in touch with you when they return from furlough.

Alternatively, we will issue a refund.

To apply for a group sales refund please follow the process outlined above under ‘I already know I don’t want to attend the event in 2021. When can I request a refund?’

Can you compensate me on travel and/or accommodation expenses for events that are now cancelled?

As per the T&C’s of sale, unfortunately we cannot compensate anything beyond the cost of the tickets. In the event of a cancellation, this will be communicated at the earliest opportunity to give ticket holders as much notice as possible.

I have purchased Hospitality ticket(s) for Dacia Magic Weekend, how do I get a refund?

We would like to offer you the option to keep your current tickets and use them as a credit to be used for the 2021 Dacia Magic Weekend. If you wish to take this option you do not need to do anything at the moment and the Hospitality Team will be in touch with you when they return from furlough.

Alternatively, a refund can be requested by emailing hospitality@wiganwarriors.com or via the Hospitality section of the website https://wiganwarriors.com/club/contact-centre/hospitality-enquiries marked as ‘HOSPITALITY REFUND’.

As above, if no refund has been requested by 11 August 2020 your booking will automatically transfer to the 2021 Dacia Magic Weekend event.
