On this day last year Wigan pinched two points at Hull KR as Sam Powell kicked a late 45-metre drop-goal.

The Warriors visited KCOM Craven Park with the return of Liam Farrell, who had been out injured since the World Club Challenge at the start of 2019 season. 

Eleven minutes in, George Williams opened the scoring to give Wigan the lead.

The home side responded as Jimmy Keinhorst levelled the scores seven minutes later. 

Five minutes before the break, the Warriors retook control as both Dan Sarginson and Joe Burgess crossed the whitewash. 

Despite going into half time trailing 6-14, Hull KR came back out fighting in their first game under Head Coach Tony Smith, as Will Dagger went over for a try in the 43rd-minute.

Liam Farrell made his return to action on this day in 2019.

The Robins then took the lead through Wigan-born Ryan Lannon, who came off the bench to score. 

Despite that, the Warriors bounced back as Liam Marshall dived over in the corner to level the scores with 15 minutes remaining. 

Following disallowed tries for both teams, up stepped Sam Powell in the 78th-minute to kick an outstanding 45-metre drop-goal to decide the 18-19 result.
