Wigan Warriors will be live streaming the classic 2004 Good Friday Derby clash on the Club’s Official Facebook Page at 3pm on Friday 10th April.

One of the most iconic Super League fixtures of all time has gone own in folklore of both sets of fans and the wider Rugby League public as one the fiercest and fiery encounters between the two red rose rivals.

Wigan TV Production Manager, Stewart Frodsham, said: “Good Friday is etched into the psyche of our fan-base and we understand that in these challenging times we’d like to give our supporters their Derby Day fix, and that’s why we’re opening up one of the Wigan vs Saints classics to a wider-audience.

Andy Farrell and Paul Sculthorpe go toe-to-toe in the 2004 Good Friday Derby.

“We’ve seen a spike in subscriptions to our Wigan TV platform and across our channels, as we’re trying to engage and entertain our fan-base in what are very difficult circumstances.

“We hope you enjoy seeing Andy Farrell go toe-to-toe with Dominic Feaunati, Terry Newton cross for a try and some of the most recognisable and revered Super League stars serve up a classic encounter.

”We also have a total of 10 notable ‘Good Friday Classics’ for Wigan TV subscribers to watch in full and highlight form across the bank holiday weekend.”

Wigan Warriors fans should also note that at 1pm on Friday, Sky Sports Arena will be showing one of Wigan’s most remarkable Good Friday victories over St Helens, with the 2003 Good Friday Derby being shown as part of Sky Sports’ Super League Rewind series.
