Wigan Warriors wish to offer information to fans in relation to the car parking charges levied on Thursday night for the Play-Off game against Leeds Rhinos.

The car parks belong to the DW Stadium and as such, fall under the rulings of Wigan Athletic Football Club not Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club.

The new company formed – who own Wigan Athletic – kindly honoured the 2020 seasonal parking passes purchased by Warriors fans for the 2021 Betfred Super League season.

However, they deem a Play-Off game is outside the Warriors’ main season fixtures and thus not covered.

This issue was only brought to the attention of a member of the Warriors staff at 5pm on the day of the game, leaving us no time to advise fans in advance that there would be a charge levied on entry for which we apologise.

We have understandably received several queries since Thursday night but we hope that the above explanation makes it clear that the car parks are not operated by the Warriors but by the DW Stadium and all revenue raised on game days stays with them.
