Wigan Warriors and Houses for Homes to host Boys Development Day
Young players aged 11-16 welcome to attend FREE sessions
- Great chance to be trained by Wigan Warriors Performance Coaches
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, in partnership with Houses for homes and the RFL’s England Talent Pathway Programme, are hosting a series of open access player development days for Under 12’s – Under 16’s (Year 7 to Year 11).
The programme is designed to help every athlete reach their full athletic potential, regardless of age, gender, limitation, sport or natural ability.
Anthony Atherton, Warriors Community Innovation Manager, said: “The February sessions were very successful and we received some great feedback. We are looking to build on these for the Easter sessions and continue to see the players develop whilst extending this work to teachers and coaches through CPD events.
“The players will be taken through various activities, scenarios and movement competencies designed to cover a range of skills concluding with a skill games component. We’ll also be supporting the coaches to help them deliver great content too. We’re looking forward to welcoming everybody back again.”
The sessions are FREE of charge and will take place at the club’s training centre at Central Park (Montrose Avenue, WN5 9XL).
Players wanting to attend must pre-register through http://wwrl.co/devreg with their name, emergency contact number, playing age group, school and Community club (if applicable). The day will involve training both indoors and outside and players should bring kit, food and drink to suit.
