All Young girls aged 12-16 welcome to attend free sessions with Warriors performance coaches
- Development day to take place at Central Park on Monday 19th February 1-3pm
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, in partnership with Houses for Homes, are set to host an open access player development day for girls.
The day is open to junior players aged 12 through to 16 and will take place at Central Park on Monday 19th February, 1-3pm.
With the help of the club’s performance and foundation coaches the aim is to help every girl up-skill and reach her athletic potential, regardless of age, limitation, sport or natural ability.
Amanda Wilkinson, Wigan Warriors Women’s Head Coach, said:
“The development of the girls’ game in Wigan will play a crucial part in the future of our Women’s team and I’m really looking forward to the start of this exciting journey.
“This will be the first of many girls development days for 2018. The days will give all girls aged 12-16 the opportunity to live their dream and train like a Warrior with the hope of one day playing for the Cherry and Whites.
“The players will be taken through various drills designed to cover a range of skills and fundamental movements, finishing with a conditioned game, led by our performance coaches.”
The session is FREE of charge and will take place at the club’s training centre at Central Park (Montrose Avenue, WN5 9XL) on Monday 19th February, 1-3pm.
Players wanting to attend must register, email firstname.lastname@example.org with their name, emergency contact number, playing age group, school and Community club (if applicable). The day will involve training both indoors and outside and players should bring kit, food and drink to suit.
