Wigan Warriors will be delighted to celebrate the town of Wigan when the Warriors face Castleford Tigers in their final home fixture of 2017 on Sunday 17th September, 3pm kick-off.

The Warriors will celebrate the local community throughout an action-packed afternoon at the DW Stadium, whilst also recognising the contribution that loyal supporters, local amateur clubs and past players make to our historic Club.

As part of the afternoon’s celebrations, Shaun Wane’s side will also wear a special limited edition shirt, more details of which will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, the match day entertainment will also pay tribute to the town’s musical links as well as acknowledging the Club’s past, with a celebration of 30 years since the first World Club Challenge win, and it’s future with the presentation of the Edwards Johnson Memorial trophy for the Academy player of the year.

Wigan Warriors Marketing Manager Paul MacLeod commented,

“Celebrate Wigan Day will afford us the opportunity to thank our loyal supporters who are the lifeblood of our Club, along with local amateur clubs and past players.

“We will also have time to acknowledge the achievements of the World Club Challenge winning sides of 1987 and 2017.

“As this is our final home fixture of the season, the team will be looking to continue their push for the semi finals against league leaders Castleford, so the afternoon promises to be a great day out for the whole family.”
