Wigan Warriors fans will be able to give the team a big Wembley send off on Thursday at the DW Stadium when the team leave for London.
The Players and Coaching Staff will be departing the Stadium at approximately 11am as they head South to their Team Hotel ahead of Saturday’s Ladbroke’s Challenge Cup Final against Hull FC at Wembley.
The team will have an informal brunch with Family and Club Staff in Rigalettos before departing by coach and heading to Wigan North Western train station where they will then travel by an exclusive Virgin train to their base as preparations continue for the Final.
Fans are invited to see the team depart and would suggest they arrive from 10.15am onwards. There will be a segregated area in front of Rigalettos on the West Stand side of the Stadium from where fans will have the opportunity to wish the team well.
Paul Holden will be on hand with his ukulele to play a live rendition of the Wigan Youth Zone charity single ‘Marching on to Wembley, the Town Cryer will also be attending while Wigan Council will be providing goodies and giveaways for those in attendance.
Speaking about the departure, Wigan Captain, Sean O’Loughlin, said:
“Our fans have been great this season, particularly in the cup games and it would be great to see as many people as possible at the Stadium on Thursday to give the players a massive send off for the Final.
“On behalf of the lads I’d like to thank all of our fans for the way they have got behind us all year, we look forward to seeing you all down at Wembley.”
Whilst players will do their best to meet fans, due to time constraints the opportunity for photographs and autographs may be strictly limited.
