Under-16s: Wigan 32 St Helens 12

Wigan Warriors Under-16s defeated local rivals St Helens Under-16s 32-12 at the Fairhurst Accountants Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Cherry and Whites were 10-0 up midway through the first-half thanks to tries from Amir Bourouh and Jack Kennedy.

Jamie Little pulled one back for Saints late on in the half but Wigan were 10-6 in front at the break.

Reece Hamlett and Umyla Hanley extended Wigan’s lead after the restart but Josh Simm brought Saints back into contention with the score 22-12 in favour of the Warriors.

The hosts pulled clear in the last 10 minutes though as Hamlett and Oliver Waite crossed the whitewash.

Warriors halfback Ryan Forshaw was sin-binned for dissent with three minutes left to play and Wigan saw out a 32-12 victory.
