Tommy Leads U14s Development Programme

  • Wigan Warriors and Houses for Homes development programme for Under 14’s starts tomorrow

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, in partnership with Houses for Homes are set to deliver this years “Futures” performance programme for current Under 14’s players starting tomorrow at 6pm.

The club have set up a weekly camp starting tomorrow, the 19th April for six consecutive Wednesday evenings throughout April and May 2017. This will provide an opportunity for young players to showcase their Rugby League talent in front of the Club’s performance Staff as well as the aim of developing their core skills.

The programme will take place at the Club’s Central Park performance facility on Montrose Avenue in the town between 6pm and 7.30pm. Wigan Warriors player Tommy Leuluai will head up the camp and will be in attendance alongside other first team players to deliver the programme alongside the Wigan Warriors Performance & Foundation staff.

Speaking about the Future’s Programme, Warriors Head of Youth Matty Peet said:

“We are thrilled to begin the 2017 Futures Programme for Under 14’s and it provides a great opportunity over the six weeks for players of any ability to improve their skill development on an intensive weekly programme.

“The players will benefit hugely from the sessions with the opportunity for those involved to showcase their talent in front of the Wigan Warriors staff. We have been working extensively with Year 9s from all schools and community clubs and are very excited by this age group coming through. It is a great for all the players involved and who knows some of those attending could develop further and come a part of our Scholarship programme.”
