Wigan Warriors Head Coach Shaun Wane to lead coaching seminar for Rugby League coaches
Wane to speak on Wigan’s culture and success
- Session to be held at Central Park, Monday 3 April, 6-8pm, all coaches welcome
Coaches from across the country have the opportunity to benefit from a unique insight into the role of a Head Coach from Warriors boss Shaun Wane.
Wigan’s longest serving and most successful coach of the Super League era, Wane recently guided Wigan to World Club Challenge success, the eighth trophy during his time with the first team since becoming Assistant Coach back in 2010.
Wane will lead a coaching seminar at Central Park on Monday 3 April from 6-8pm with all Rugby League coaches welcome to attend.
“I’m a big fan of these seminars.” Wane said.
“It’s something I’d have attended had it been available when I was a junior coach. A lot of the people that attend are amateur coaches and I’ve been in their position, coaching at Wigan St Pats, so I know exactly where they’re coming from.
“Ultimately I want Wigan juniors to be the best so hopefully these opportunities will go some way to achieving that.”
Wane will pass on tips and answer questions from coaches with the evening one of the highlights of coach education sessions held throughout the year by the Warriors.
Scholarship Manager, Steve McCormack, said: “Shaun takes as much pride in developing coaches as he does in developing players.
“He knows that the quality of the young players coming through the system is a result of the hard work of coaches in the club but more significantly the coaches in the community game who spend so much time with them. These nights are a way of him expressing his appreciation and hopefully passing on some of what he has learned throughout his career. It promises to be an excellent session and I’d urge all coaches to book onto this and attend.”
