Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that a unique World Club Challenge Dinner will take place on Thursday 16th February ahead of the Club’s clash against Cronulla Sharks.

Stars, coaches and legends from both sides will be in attendance to look back on the each clubs success in 2016 and their history on the international stage, before turning their attentions to the upcoming match.

The Warriors overcame adversity to clich the Super League title with a 12-6 win at Old Trafford, whilst Cronulla secured their first ever NRL premiership with a 14-12 victory in Sydney. The two sides will meet for the first time in a bid to be crowed the best Club side in the Rugby League World.

The prestigious event will be hosted by BBC Sport’s Tanya Arnold with Warriors star Sam Tomkins set to co-host by conducting insightful one-on-one interviews with players from both teams.

Wigan Warriors Commercial Director Geoff Warburton said:

“We are delighted to host such a special event at the DW Stadium ahead of the Dacia World Club Challenge.

“This dinner will provide a rare and enjoyable opportunity to dine with and hear the views of some of the sport’s finest players.

“We expect this event to be extremely popular and I would therefore urge anyone wishing to attend to book their place as soon as possible.”

As part of the evening, the Warriors’ player sponsors will also present the players with their shirts for the 2017 season.

The event will be proudly sponsored by Steve Woods Limited and wil start from 7pm and be hosted in the North Stand Marquee Lounge at the DW Stadium.
