After concluding our rewind to the 2013 season on Wigan TV this week, Club Historian Keith Sutch provides all the key stats and facts from the year the Warriors won the double.

General facts

  • Shaun Wane was the Head Coach 
  • Sean O’Loughlin was the Club Captain
  • Wigan won the double for first time in the Super League era
  • Wigan became the first time a team finishing fourth in the Super League table won the Grand Final
  • With Wigan Athletic winning the FA Cup, Wigan became the first town or city to win the Challenge Cup and FA Cup in the same year
  • Wigan scored 15 hat-tricks during the season 
    • Ten were scored in Super League (most Wigan have scored in SL season)
