Last time we spoke about my injury and I was due for an operation to get it sorted. For a couple of reasons the op got pushed back so I’m still waiting on that to go ahead, but I’ll be sure to keep you updated on my recovery.
I’ve been spending a lot of time with the family and enjoying some sunshine for the last couple of weeks. I went up to Orrell to the training ground, but without having my operation I’m massively limited to what I can do, so I’ve been told to rest it out at home. As much as I love doing what I do, I won’t lie, it has been nice having some time to relax. My rescheduled surgery should go ahead in a weeks’ time, so I’ll be in hospital for a few days and then I can get into the rehab period until I’m good to go again.
I went and saw the boys on the road at Castleford and Salford and I was really happy that we got the wins there. We’re away from home for a very long period and we’re up against some top quality teams, so to come away with the wins has been good. The win at Cas was an important one for us, and I thought the performance at Salford was solid. Game management towards the end let us down, and I think Waney (Shaun Wane) has picked up on that, but we got the two points which is the main thing. We want to keep the momentum going away from home, so I’m sure the boys will put in some more hard work, starting with Hull KR this week.
I’m sure most, or all of you have seen the six kits that have been designed for next season, which you can vote for if you’re a member or season ticket holder. I like the idea that we can leave the decision down to the fans, it means that you can choose something which you like. Obviously everyone will have their own opinions on them, and some not to everyone’s taste, but I’m sure whichever one is chosen will look good.
For me, I’d like to be out on the field in the shirt modelled by George Williams, I’m not sure if I can pull off those squares.
